What we do
A mature tree is the most valuable thing in most desert yards. It gives shade nothing else can replace for fifteen years, and it lowers the temperature of everything under it. We trim to keep trees healthy and structurally sound, and we remove them when they are genuinely finished or unsafe.
How we build it
Trimming here is about structure and wind. Monsoon season takes down trees that were left too dense or badly weighted, so we thin canopies to let wind pass through and correct weight distribution before it becomes a problem. Cuts are made to preserve the tree, not simply to make it smaller.

Trees that come through monsoon standing, and a crew that cleans the site properly before leaving. Where removal is the right call we grind the stump and leave the ground ready for whatever replaces it.

$250 - $900 per tree for trimming
Removal runs $450 - $2,500 depending on size and access. Stump grinding is usually quoted separately.

Permits and HOA approval
No permit for work on private property in most West Valley municipalities. A tree in a right of way or a community common area is the city or the HOA call, not ours, and we will point you at the right desk.
Common questions
When is the best time to trim in Arizona?
For most desert species, ahead of monsoon season is the priority, since that is when wind takes down poorly thinned trees. Beyond that, timing depends on the species and on whether it flowers. We work to what each tree needs rather than trimming everything on one calendar date.
Can a leaning tree be saved?
Sometimes. It depends on why it is leaning. Young trees that have grown toward light can often be corrected with staking and structural pruning. A mature tree leaning because its root plate has lifted is a different situation and usually a safety issue. We will tell you which one you have.
Do you grind the stump after removal?
Yes, and we recommend it. A stump left in place is a trip hazard, attracts pests and blocks whatever you want to plant or build there. Grinding takes it below grade so the area can be backfilled and used normally rather than worked around indefinitely.
How much trimming is too much?
Over thinning is a real and common problem here. Stripping a canopy back too hard exposes bark that has never seen direct sun, which causes sunburn damage and stresses the tree badly. Proper thinning opens the canopy to wind while leaving enough foliage to shade the limbs underneath.
